Advisor Select 401(k)

At Gaskin Wealth Management we are proud to offer a simple and effective solution for 401(K) participants.

To serve our clients, Gaskin Wealth Management uses a rules-based process to select the best performing investments within a client’s 401(K) plan menu. We then continuously monitor each client’s investments throughout the year to re-align and affirm that the client is invested in the top performing options. To add an extra layer of protection and peace of mind for our clients, there is a safety trigger built inside the process to move a client’s investments to safety should a down turn in the market arise. For example, this safety trigger kept our clients from experiencing the market decline of 2008. Our rules based approach signaled us to exit the market in July 2008 before the severe market decline occurred in September-October. This saved our clients from losing a large portion of their wealth.

What matters most to 401(K) participants?

The internet is full of personal finance and self help articles for 401(K) plan participants to read. For that reason we stay focused on just two numbers that matter the most.

1) What has been the return on the investments you currently own, compared to the other investment choices on your company 401(K) retirement plan menu.

More often than not, you are invested in more than one investment that has lagged in performance of other investments available to you. In other words you took 100% of the market risk but you didn't receive nearly the returns to show for it.

2) It is almost impossible to find any company 401(K) plan that can tell you how much money it has cost you by owning the wrong investment option in your company 401(K) plan. This is what I call the opportunity cost. Our process greatly reduces this from occurring by allocating into the out- performing investment choices.
